The Transatlantic Big Science Conference
is a new forum for productive, thoughtful, and candid conversations about the urgent need to empower research collaborations across national boundaries. The inaugural TTBSC 2022 was held in Washington DC in 2022.
The conference aspires to create opportunities to renew and reinvigorate historic collaborations between scientists and organizations and to empower transnational research communities to pursue transformational, sustainable solutions to global challenges.

About The Transatlantic Big Science Conferences#
The inaugural conference was held in Washington DC in 2022. The program, jointly organized by the US-based Carnegie Science and the EU-based DESY (Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron), brought together international scientific leaders, researchers and policymakers working across disciplines. The conference highlighted a wide range of exciting new research and led to important conversations on how scientists on both sides of the Atlantic can collaborate most productively.
Since that first conference, the Transatlantic Big Science Conference steering committee has been working to move these conversations forward and find the most effective and innovative ways to build lasting connections between researchers on both sides of the Atlantic.
