Latest: #

Demetrios Spandidos MAE, in collaboration with others, published a number of papers in Spandidos Publications. The first is titled ‘Immature granulocytes: Innovative biomarker for SARS‑CoV‑2 infection’. This paper aims to evaluate the role of the IG count in patients hospitalized due to COVID‑19 infection. The second paper is titled ‘Long COVID and neuropsychiatric manifestations’. The paper concludes that interdisciplinary cooperation for the early identification of patients who are at a high risk of persistent neuropsychiatric presentations, beyond COVID‑19 recovery, is crucial to ensure that appropriate integrated physical and mental health support is provided, with the aim of mitigating the risks of long‑term disability at a societal and individual level. The third paper ‘COVID‑19 induced hypoparathyroidism: A case report’ describes the case of a patient with primary hypoparathyroidism induced by COVID‑19. Read more.


Science and Research#

Prof. Álvaro de Rújula, MAE, of CERN, Geneva, and the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) organized the webinar "The Higgs Boson and the Coronavirus (Basic Science after the Pandemic)". The webinar was held on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at 4:00 pm CET. Read more.
