In a constantly evolving research environment, how do you ensure your publication is ethical? What are the requirements from reputable publishers to safeguard research integrity?

Research integrity is all about aligning research activities with ethical principles and responsible research and publication practice. This helps gain trust from other researchers and the wider society in published research findings. Not adhering to ethical standards can lead to low-quality and potentially unethical research reaching both academic and general public.

Sabina Alam, Director of Publishing Ethics & Integrity at Taylor & Francis, will share insights on what publishers do to ensure the ethics and integrity standards of publications.

Ilse Derluyn, Professor at the Department of Social Work and Social Pedagogy at Ghent University, will focus on ethics in research from a broad perspective. She will also give some examples of her research on the well-being of unaccompanied refugee minors and the war-affected victims in the Global South.
